Birch Tree Capital is led by its founder, John Harper. Mr. Harper has decades of experience extending and structuring project financing for power and other infrastructure projects.  Since 2000, he has advised and assisted in debt and equity financing for renewable power projects. Prior to founding Birch Tree Capital, he led project financings for multiple project developers and finance companies, including enXco (now EDF Renewable Energy), ABB, Wartsila, and the Overseas Private Investment Corporation.  Mr. Harper was the Vice President for Finance for Ze-gen, a start-up clean power technology company, where he closed venture debt and Series B equity financing.  He holds Series 7 and 63 FINRA licenses.  Mr. Harper has advised federal, state, and local agencies on clean power financing, including an influential report on wind financing structures for the U.S. Department of Energy (available on our Client page).  Click here for a summary.
